As I sat at my kitchen table this morning, looking out the windows and thinking back to the 30 years I have lived in this home, I remembered watching the house across the street being put in, you were the grounds manager then and were always busy directing each new home’s placement as the park grew. So many wonderful people were part of that beginning, how we swam, played shuffleboard, or just sat and talked and laughed. It was such a wonderful place for Bill and me after many busy years, lots of moves, living as missionaries for 24 years in Europe, then another 10 in Jacksonville. But 16 Lattice Drive became “HOME”, and though I have been alone the past 11 years, it is still home, a wonderful place to live, absolutely the right choice we made 30 years ago.
So, as I am approaching my 95th birthday, I just felt that I should let you know how I feel about Lakes at Leesburg, I absolutely love it here, I feel safe, I have good neighbors, and my children also think this is a great place for me. I just wanted to tell you that you have done a great job of management, I am proud of the way the park looks, and though just about all the “old timers” I knew back in 1989 are gone (maybe John Able might still date that far back?), there are some grand people moving in and I am making new friends.
Thank you, Carlos, you are an excellent manager and a fine man.
